Online whispers are swirling with new details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows following a purported leak of an artbook. The leak, initially spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, spread rapidly across the internet. This "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook, reportedly containing hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information, has created a buzz. The leaked art showcases concepts for historical figures, major cities, and weaponry, and potentially reveals plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's release, the images appear authentic.

The leak comes just before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay from its initially planned 2024 release. In a recent preview event, IGN spoke with game director Charles Benoit, who explained the delay as primarily focused on polishing the game. He confirmed that while a few aspects of progression and balancing were adjusted to enhance player engagement, the parkour system received the most significant attention. The unique challenges presented by Feudal Japan's complex architecture required specific coding and animations to maintain fluidity. Benoit stated, "The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex... We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid."
