"Apple Officially Renews Severance for Season 3"
Apple has officially renewed the critically acclaimed sci-fi psychological thriller Severance for a thrilling Season 3. Created by Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson, the series stands as the most popular show on Apple TV+, with its recently concluded second season marking the streamer's most-watched series to date. Dive into IGN's comprehensive review of Severance Season 2 to discover our take on this gripping narrative.
Ben Stiller, reflecting on the show's production, shared, “Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. While I have no memory of this, I’m told making Season 3 will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”
Adam Scott, who stars and serves as an executive producer, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple, and the whole Severance team. Oh hey also - not a huge deal - but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”

Apple's official synopsis teases the plot: "In Severance, Mark Scout (Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself."
Season 2 deepens the mystery, as Mark and his colleagues grapple with the severe repercussions of tampering with the severance barrier, further entangling them in a web of intrigue. New series regulars Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson join the cast, adding fresh dimensions to the story.
While an exact release date for Season 3 remains undisclosed, Ben Stiller, during an appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, reassured fans that the wait won't be as long as the three-year gap between the first and second seasons. "No, the plan is not to [wait three years]," Stiller affirmed. "Definitely not. Hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon. That will not be that!" He elaborated on the delays, citing the writers' and actors' strike and the extensive shooting and editing required for Season 2.
