I wasn’t planning on buying more Pokémon cards this week, but then I spotted the Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Booster Bundle still in stock on Amazon for $45.02, following a massive Pokémon TCG restock. The timing couldn't be better, with the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, offering a plethora of hot sets to grab while supplies last. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

My favorite? This Surging Sparks set is chaos in the best way. It features chase cards that are worthy of grading, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. No, that's not a typo. The little electric mouse is both a powerhouse collectible and a formidable force in battle. Topaz Bolt can clear nearly any opponent from the board, and Resolute Heart makes it frustratingly difficult to knock out.

Latias, being the rarer and more expensive twin at over $200, seems to command a premium. Meanwhile, Milotic ex exudes supermodel vibes with its light and shadow drama, while also serving as a strong counter to Tera Pokémon, making it a meta card.

My personal favorite? Ceruledge. Its neon fever dream aesthetic is captivating, and I mean that as a compliment. This marks the first time its card has held significant value, and illustrator Rond truly deserves applause. Or at least a coffee. Despite Ceruledge not being a top-tier competitive Pokémon, its artwork alone makes it a must-have for me.

If you're a collector, the value potential here is undeniable. If you're a player, some of these cards are game-changers on the battlefield. And if you're just into shiny things and the thrill of gambling $45 on cardboard, you're in good company. I've already opened one box and am convincing myself I "need" another for science.

The bundle includes six booster packs, so while you're not guaranteed any heavy hitters, given how quickly these are selling out, it's wise not to wait too long. After all, Pikachu isn't going to pull itself.
