Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 Gaming PC Now $500 Off
Earlier this year, Dell brought back the iconic Alienware Area-51 series of prebuilt gaming PCs. At first, your only GPU option was the powerful RTX 5080—but now, that’s changed. Gamers can now configure their Area-51 system with the brand-new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, currently the most advanced consumer graphics card available. Even better? One of the two preconfigured models is already on sale.

New Release | Alienware Area-51 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K RTX 5090 Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)
- Price: $5,499.99
- Discount: Save 9% ($500 off)
- Final Price: $4,999.99 at Alienware
This configuration of the Alienware Area-51 drops to just $4,999.99 after a $500 instant discount. It comes packed with high-end specs including the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a massive 2TB SSD for storage.
The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is the company's top-tier CPU, delivering outstanding performance for both workstation tasks and gaming. While it doesn't offer the massive leap over the i9-14900K some hoped for, it remains Intel’s best all-around processor. Cooling is handled by a robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and power delivery is ensured by a high-capacity 1,500W Platinum-rated PSU.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell officially unveiled the refreshed Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. While it retains the familiar design language of the 2024 R16 model, it features several aesthetic and functional upgrades—including a redesigned I/O panel relocated to the top of the chassis instead of the front. The tempered glass side panel has also been expanded to cover the full side of the case, replacing the smaller cutout from previous versions.
As part of the redesign, traditional side panel vents have been removed in favor of bottom and front air intakes. This shift supports Alienware’s new positive airflow strategy—intake exceeds exhaust—for a cleaner internal environment and reduced dust buildup. Internally, the system has been upgraded with a newer motherboard, faster memory, and a more powerful power supply to support next-gen CPUs and GPUs like the RTX 5090.
The RTX 5090: The Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever Built
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially claimed the title of the fastest consumer GPU available. Although Nvidia has placed greater emphasis on software enhancements, AI-driven features, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 still delivers a significant hardware-based performance boost of approximately 25%-30% over the previous-generation RTX 4090. Additionally, it offers increased VRAM capacity (32GB vs. 24GB) and uses the faster GDDR7 memory standard compared to the GDDR6 found in the RTX 4090.
Despite its raw power, the RTX 5090 remains extremely difficult to find at MSRP. As of now, units are fetching between $3,500 and $4,000 on third-party platforms like eBay.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas
"The RTX 5090 has dethroned the RTX 4090, though not as dramatically as past generational jumps. In traditional rasterized performance without AI enhancements, the uplift is among the smallest we've seen in recent years. However, in titles that leverage DLSS 4, the performance gains are substantial—though you’ll need to be comfortable with the idea that up to 75% of frames are AI-generated."
