Land vehicle performance calculator.

MotorSim 2 is a performance calculator specifically designed for land vehicles. Please note that this application is not a driving game; it specializes in physically simulating vehicle performance during straight-line acceleration.

MotorSim 2 enables you to configure technical specifications and calculates the resulting performance metrics. It features an interactive simulator complete with a speedometer, RPM meter, throttle, brake, and gear shift (manual or automatic). The simulator includes procedurally generated engine sounds (not based on sampling) and displays the vehicle's position along a 1/4 mile track segment. After testing a configuration, users can save a ghost recording for future performance comparisons with other setups.

Configurable vehicle parameters include:

• \- Maximum Power

• \- Power curve (definable point by point)

• \- Torque curve (automatically derived from the power curve since power = torque × RPM)

• \- Maximum engine RPM (ignition cutoff)

• \- Gear configuration (up to 10 gears)

• \- Resistance coefficients (Cx, frontal area, and rolling resistance)

• \- Vehicle weight

• \- Tire size

• \- Shift time

• \- Transmission efficiency

Calculated performance parameters include:

• \- Top speed

• \- Acceleration times (0-60, 0-100, 0-200, 0-300, etc.)

• \- Any additional metrics measurable through the interactive simulator
