A recent leak suggests a new, temporary event for Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 1.5, featuring a multiplayer platformer game mode reminiscent of Fall Guys. This exciting addition is expected alongside the arrival of new characters Astra Yao and Evelyn, and other content slated for a late January release.

ZZZ Version 1.4, released in early December, introduced two new playable characters and an S-Rank Bangboo, along with two permanent battle-focused modes. However, ZZZ has a history of incorporating temporary, event-based game modes offering diverse gameplay experiences. The current "Bangboo vs Ethereal" event, for instance, showcases a tower defense mode. This new leak indicates a similar approach for Version 1.5.

Leakers have reported the inclusion of a multiplayer platformer, with leaked screenshots showcasing stages strikingly similar to Fall Guys. This mode is speculated to be exclusive to the upcoming "Grand Marcel" event, rather than a permanent addition. While the playable characters remain unclear (whether players will use their standard characters or Bangboo), the event is expected to reward players with valuable in-game items like Polychromes, in addition to the rumored extra free pulls.

A Familiar Formula from HoYoverse

While a platformer mode would be a novel addition to ZZZ, developer HoYoverse has previously utilized similar mechanics. Honkai Impact 3rd's 6.1 update in 2022 included the "Midnight Chronicle" event, featuring Fall Guys-style competitive stages using chibi versions of existing characters. This precedent suggests a similar approach might be adopted for ZZZ, potentially featuring either standard characters or the popular Bangboo.
