Xbox Games Series Tier List

Following a strong showing at the Xbox Developer Direct to kick off 2025, Microsoft and its impressive roster of first-party studios are looking strong. But which Xbox game series gets *you* most excited? Which delivered the most enjoyment during the Xbox 360's heyday? Or, if you're new to Xbox, which upcoming titles are you most eager to see on platforms like PlayStation, as Microsoft continues to expand its game library across various consoles?

With Microsoft's acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, the selection of legendary game series is vast. This tier list includes any series associated with Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard, provided it features more than one entry—sorry, Indiana Jones and MachineGames, a sequel would change that! This isn't an exhaustive list of *every* Xbox game series, but it aims to cover the most relevant and historically impactful franchises.

For me, Doom easily earns an S-tier ranking. The recent entries are among my favorite first-person shooters, and Doom: The Dark Ages looks like id Software is maintaining its winning streak. Forza Horizon also claims an S-tier spot; arguably, outside of Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, they're the best racing games I've ever played. Placing Halo in A-tier might raise eyebrows. While Halo 2 and 3 boast phenomenal campaigns, I can't overlook recent inconsistencies. I'm also more of a Fallout fan than an Elder Scrolls enthusiast—power armor over dragons any day!
