WoW Delays Plunderstorm Launch Date

The much-anticipated second Plunderstorm event in World of Warcraft has hit a snag, with its launch being delayed due to unforeseen issues. Originally set to return on January 14, 2025, the pirate-themed battle royale mode was meant to bring back the excitement of the original event along with new rewards for players to chase. However, the event's rollout has been pushed back, and although World of Warcraft aims to have Plunderstorm live before the day is out, no specific new launch time has been announced yet.

The delay came to light during an extended maintenance period, which was initially planned for six hours but stretched to eight. Community manager Kaivax shared on the forums that "unexpected issues" were the cause of the delay. While the main servers are back online, allowing players to engage in other in-game activities like Siren Isle weeklies and the second week of the Turbulent Timeways event, fans are left waiting for Plunderstorm's return.

When is Plunderstorm Live in World of Warcraft?

The second iteration of Plunderstorm introduces new features such as the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface, which might be contributing to the current issues. World of Warcraft is working to resolve these problems swiftly, so players can dive back into the action-packed mode.

In the meantime, the delay hasn't affected the availability of new Plunderstorm Twitch Drops. Players can earn the Coward’s Azure Target back transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft stream on Twitch before February 4 at 10 AM PST. The streamer doesn't need to be playing Plunderstorm for viewers to progress toward the Drop, offering fans a way to earn rewards while waiting for the game mode to go live.
