The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues to unfold with exciting developments. Beyond the recent Siren Isle update, Season 2 is slated to launch later in 2025, promising a wealth of new endgame content and furthering the saga of this expansion. Patch 11.0.7 introduces several new story quests that set the stage for Patch 11.1, which will delve into the Goblin capital, Undermine. Additionally, a poignant series of quests will conclude the tragic tale of Dalaran's destruction, though these won't be immediately available upon the patch's release.

Dalaran, a longstanding fixture in Warcraft and World of Warcraft, faces an uncertain future following the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue questline provides a fitting conclusion to this story, bidding farewell to a once-vibrant social hub known from Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Start the Patch 11.1 Prologue

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, you can start the Lingering Shadows campaign immediately. You don't need to complete the leveling or Level 80 campaigns first, but doing so will provide more context and avoid spoilers. The Lingering Shadows campaign includes the following quests:

• Together, Alone
• The Voice
• Ringing in the Deeps
• Good Help These Days
• Hey, What's Going On?
• Haywired and Hostile
• Built to Blast
• Bat Versus World
• Found Friends

After completing Found Friends, don't forget to speak with Orweyna. Her quest, while not part of the main campaign, offers insights into plot developments expected in future updates of The War Within or other World Soul Saga expansions.

How to Start Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, the Dalaran Epilogue had a three-week time gate upon the patch's release. As of January 7th, this restriction has been lifted. To unlock this campaign, you must complete the leveling campaign for The War Within and the Level 80 campaign, requiring at least Renown Four with all four Khaz Algar factions.

To check if you've met these requirements, head to Foundation Hall where the prologue quests for Patch 11.1 begin. If Khadgar is present, you can start the quest from him starting January 7th or later. His absence indicates you still have campaign quests to finish.
