Your adventure begins with Casper Rudolf, who you'll find tending his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just enter through the east gate and head straight to bump into him. Casper is eager to uncover the secret behind the monks' exceptional wine, but there are several steps you must take before you can crack this mystery. Make sure to explore all dialogue options with Casper to gather information about Havel and the book he left with Adleta. This will give you a strategic advantage in how you approach Havel.

If you're set on retrieving the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall in the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before you go, collect five Marigolds. Arrive before her brother, Hugo, or if he's already there, get his permission to talk to Adleta. Keep the conversation friendly and explain your need for the book for Casper. You can attempt to pass a skill check to convince her to hand it over, or you can offer the Marigolds as a gift in exchange for the book. Once you have it, read the book from your inventory.

Alternatively, if you choose to bypass Adleta, you can head directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by wearing the right outfit and brushing up on your drinking skills. Engage Havel with these dialogue choices:

• Germany. Let’s do it.
• That’s a very fine gift.
• Steinberger.
• It’s missing ginger.

With these choices, you'll impress Havel, who will then share the secret of the monastery's special ingredient. Return to Casper with this crucial information.

Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient

Next, make your way to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg. Start the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest by talking to the recruiter. While you don't need to complete this side quest, initiating it allows you to freely explore the vineyard without being labeled a trespasser. Inside, find Jerome sitting on a bench near the main building.

Once at the main building, sneak in, turn left, and head to the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and find the Sulphur Wicks, which are essential for Casper. If you're looking to earn some extra Groschen, grab five seedlings from the garden at the back of the main building before leaving.

If you decide to complete "Under the Straw Hat," participate in tasks such as clearing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've done enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn your Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and the seedlings, if you've collected them.
