What is a Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snaps into a short video montage. It doesn't provide detailed stats; instead, it showcases a curated selection of your photos and videos, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The recap seamlessly transitions into other Memories features, allowing you to explore past moments from previous years.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is simple! On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. Don't press the shutter button; simply swipe. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to start the recap. The automatically playing slideshow features a Snap for each month. You can tap the screen to advance through the recap at your own pace. Save, edit, or share your Snap Recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, so yours may not be ready yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in recap generation. If you haven't used Snapchat regularly, you might not have enough content for a recap. Unfortunately, Snapchat Support indicates that you cannot request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
