This latest announcement was subtly included in a recent game update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While this delay pushes the release a few months beyond the initial target of the first half of 2025, it comes with the assurance that the game is now complete.

According to Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." This statement provides a glimmer of hope for fans who have endured numerous delays over the years.

Despite the disappointment of another delay, the recent update video offers some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, increased narrative depth, and enhanced character development since the last major update. They've also promised that Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should note that while dev diaries have kept them informed during development, the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page has announced that future updates will be less frequent.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019, with an original launch window set for Q1 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to late 2020, then to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at the original developer, Hardsuit Labs. The development baton was eventually passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release, which has now been postponed to October 2025.

With this latest delay, it remains uncertain whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will successfully launch this fall. However, The Chinese Room seems confident in their current progress.
