The mod, which replaced Captain America's model with that of Donald Trump, generated significant online discussion before its removal.

Marvel Rivals, a hero shooter developed by NetEase Games, has quickly gained millions of players since its release. Players frequently utilize mods to customize the game's characters, adding skins from various Marvel sources or even incorporating models from other games like Fortnite.

The Trump mod, along with a reportedly similar Joe Biden mod, is no longer accessible on Nexus Mods, resulting in error messages for users attempting to locate them. This action aligns with Nexus Mods' 2020 policy banning mods related to US sociopolitical issues, a policy implemented during the height of the 2020 presidential election.

The removal of the mod has sparked mixed reactions online. Many players have commented on the perceived incongruity of Trump's likeness with Captain America's character, while others have criticized Nexus Mods for its stance on political content in mods.
