Threads of Time, An RPG Inspired by Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, Lands on Xbox and Steam

Riyo Games' upcoming turn-based JRPG, Threads of Time, a nostalgic yet modern homage to classics like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, is coming to Xbox and PC! This exciting announcement, made during the Xbox showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2024, promises a captivating blend of retro charm and cutting-edge visuals.

Threads of Time PS5 and Switch Release Still Pending

Currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and Steam, Threads of Time boasts stunning 2.5D pixel art and high-quality anime cutscenes. While a release date remains unconfirmed, the game is generating considerable buzz, even being compared to the critically acclaimed Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series.

The developers at Riyo Games describe their vision as creating "retro-infused RPGs that awaken treasured childhood memories," born from a childhood promise to create epic adventures.

Players will journey through diverse eras, from prehistoric times to a futuristic robot age, unraveling a sinister plot that threatens the very fabric of time. A diverse cast of characters adds to the adventure, including Rye (a swordsman from 1000 AD), Bo (a veterinarian from 12,000,000 BC), Rin (a kitsune from 2400 AD), and more.
