TCG Tokens Treat Pokémon Trainers to Free Fun

Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been underwhelming, despite high player demand. This has led developers to announce a rework of the trading system.

As a temporary measure, 1000 Trade Tokens are being gifted to all players via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens were previously a necessary currency for card trading. The developers previously stated their intention to simplify trading and currency acquisition. Many players criticized the trading restrictions, particularly the rarity limitations and the required currency.

Reworking Trading

To avoid the current issues, a simpler, more open trading system, or the removal of trading altogether, would have been preferable. While botting and exploitation are valid concerns, the existing currency and rarity restrictions likely wouldn't have deterred determined players.

Hopefully, the trading rework will address these concerns. A well-implemented digital trading system could make Pokémon TCG Pocket a strong competitor to the physical card game.
