Tango Gameworks Bolsters Creative Vision with New Action Game Project

by Finn Nov 24,2025

Tango Gameworks, the studio behind Hi-Fi Rush, has launched a revamped website and announced it is developing an unannounced action game.

The updated site, featuring fresh branding and a careers section for an unannounced project, highlights Tango Gameworks' mission to "craft innovative games and nurture original intellectual properties" as an independent Tokyo-based studio under Krafton.

In May 2024, Microsoft announced it had closed several Bethesda studios, including Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin, known for Redfall. The decision sparked widespread dismay among developers and fans, particularly after Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg praised Hi-Fi Rush as a "breakout hit for [Xbox] and [its] players across all key metrics and expectations."

In August 2024, PUBG publisher Krafton acquired Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP from Microsoft, preventing the studio’s closure. Krafton stated in a press release that it will work with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a seamless transition, enabling Tango’s skilled team to continue developing the Hi-Fi Rush IP and pursue new ventures.

"After months of uncertainty, Tango Gameworks is back with a fresh start," the studio’s website declares. "Our new site offers fans and prospective team members insight into our creative vision and introduces our team through exclusive featurettes."

"Since joining Krafton, Tango Gameworks has embarked on a new journey, creating titles that captivate global audiences," the studio continued. "We remain committed to developing unique and innovative IPs, striving to stand out as a distinctive voice in the gaming industry."

Tango emphasized that its vision revolves around a "creative workshop" approach, producing games with a handcrafted quality that defines its work.

Details about the new game remain scarce. A recent news post noted that Tango is "not ready to share much yet" but is actively hiring for an unannounced action game, with open roles across nearly every department.

"These positions are open to those eager to join the team behind acclaimed titles like Hi-Fi Rush. Learn more about our studio’s philosophy," the post added. According to a machine translation of the senior-level designer position, Tango seeks candidates with "experience in 3D action game development" using Unreal Engine 5. The cutscene manager role also requires expertise in 3D action games but offers no further hints. Could this be a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush?
