Originally released in 1999, System Shock 2 redefined the survival horror and RPG genres. This remaster promises to maintain the game's unsettling atmosphere while enhancing it with modern graphics and improved gameplay mechanics.

Nightdive Studios, renowned for their work on the System Shock franchise (including the 2013 System Shock 2 remaster and the recent System Shock remake), initially planned a simultaneous launch with the System Shock remake. However, development challenges led to a revised release schedule.

The 2023 System Shock remake was critically acclaimed, achieving a Metacritic score of 78/100, a user score of 7.6/10, and a 91% positive rating on Steam. With the System Shock 2 remaster on the near horizon, fans can finally look forward to experiencing this updated classic.
