System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios has announced a name change and new platform for their modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror classic. Previously known as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the game will now launch as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, and will also be available on Nintendo Switch.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis reads:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL vessel Von Braun, you find yourself with amnesia, stranded amidst a horrifying catastrophe. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the cold metal. SHODAN, a rogue AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. The fate of mankind rests on your shoulders. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the terrifying fate of its crew and unraveling a deeply immersive narrative.

Nightdive Studios will reveal the official release date, alongside a new trailer, during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
