Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Good news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a short absence. The popular Square Enix title's return follows a delisting that lasted several days. This likely resulted from Square Enix recently acquiring the publishing rights from Nintendo.

This tactical RPG, lauded for its classic gameplay, draws comparisons to franchises like Fire Emblem. Players strategically maneuver units on the battlefield to maximize damage.

Square Enix confirmed Triangle Strategy's return via Twitter. While no official reason was given for the delisting, the recent publishing rights transfer is widely speculated as the cause.

This isn't the first time a Square Enix game has been temporarily removed from the eShop. Octopath Traveler experienced a similar, though longer, absence last year. However, Triangle Strategy's return was much quicker, resolving within four days.

The game's reappearance is welcome news for Nintendo Switch owners who enjoy Square Enix titles. This further highlights the strong relationship between the two companies, evidenced by past collaborations like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series' initial Switch exclusivity.

Square Enix's history of console-exclusive releases, stretching back to the original NES Final Fantasy, continues today with titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (currently PlayStation 5 exclusive) and the original Nintendo Switch exclusive version of Dragon Quest XI.
