Spider-Man 4 Gets Small Delay to Move Clear of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

by Lucy Mar 05,2025

The upcoming Tom Holland Spider-Man film has been pushed back a week, likely to avoid a direct clash with Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Sony's revised release schedule places the fourth Spider-Man movie on July 31st, 2026, instead of the previously announced July 24th. This two-week gap between The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4 provides more IMAX screen availability, a preference of director Christopher Nolan. Interestingly, Tom Holland stars in both films.

This Spider-Man installment, following Avengers: Doomsday (May 1st, 2026), will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi). The directorial change for the next Avengers film, originally assigned to Cretton, resulted from narrative shifts related to the Kang character. The Russo Brothers have returned to helm Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. surprisingly cast as Doctor Doom.
