Smite 2 Free-to-Play Launch Date Announced Alongside New Character

Smite 2 Open Beta Launches January 14th with Aladdin and More!

Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, enters its free-to-play open beta on January 14th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, promising a revamped experience for both veterans and newcomers.

This launch will introduce Aladdin, the first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, adding to the already impressive roster of nearly 50 Gods by the end of January. Aladdin, a Magical Assassin and Jungler, will bring unique wall-running and lamp-trapping abilities to the battlefield. Familiar faces from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, also return with updated skill sets.

Beyond new Gods, the open beta will feature exciting additions:

• New Game Modes: Experience the thrill of 3v3 Joust, set in an Arthurian-themed arena with teleporters and stealth grass, or test your skills in the 1v1 Duel mode using the same map.
• Aspects System: This innovative system allows players to sacrifice a God's standard ability for a powerful alternative. For example, Athena can forgo her ally-shielding teleport for a foe-weakening one. Twenty Gods will initially feature Aspects, with more to come.
• Quality-of-Life Improvements: Smite 2 enhances the player experience with Role Guides, improved in-game messaging, PC text chat, item store enhancements, and detailed death recaps.

The open beta will feature 20 of Smite 2's 45 dynamic Gods at launch. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will also take place at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from January 17th to 19th.
