Skate Expands Playtesting to Include Console Players

Skate's Console Playtest is Here!

Exciting news for console gamers! The highly anticipated skate. title, a fresh entry in the beloved Skate franchise, is now available for playtesting on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. While PC players have been enjoying playtests since mid-2022, this marks the first opportunity for console players to experience a new Skate game in over a decade. skate. is confirmed to be free-to-play.

The last mainline Skate game, Skate 3, launched in 2010. Despite a dedicated fanbase, EA seemingly put the franchise on hold to focus on other genres. However, persistent fan demand, fueled by the #Skate4 hashtag, ultimately led to the creation of a dedicated development team and the announcement of skate. Initially slated for early access in 2025, this console playtest signals promising progress.
