Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons: Leaked Images Reveal Magnetic Design and Color Scheme

Recent online leaks appear to confirm the design of the Joy-Con controllers for Nintendo's upcoming Switch successor. While the Switch continues to see 2025 game releases, speculation around its replacement is intensifying, especially given Nintendo's confirmation of an announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. With a rumored March 2025 launch, leaks regarding the Switch 2's specifications and features are becoming increasingly prevalent.

New images, shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit and subsequently across social media, offer the clearest look yet at the Switch 2's Joy-Cons. The images, purportedly sourced from a Chinese social network, showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con. They notably reveal a magnetic connection system, replacing the original Switch's rail-based mechanism. This magnetic design has been a recurring rumor.

The leaked photos highlight a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, echoing the original Switch's color scheme but with a reversed emphasis. The images also provide a glimpse of the updated button layout, including noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a third, unlabeled button on the back, potentially used to release the magnetic connection.

These Joy-Con images align with other circulating leaks and mockups of the Switch 2 console. However, official confirmation awaits Nintendo's planned reveal.
