PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain!

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held in Saudi Arabia as part of the larger Gamers8 event, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been cut in half, leaving 12 contenders vying for a share of the $3 million prize pool.

For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's a Gamers8 spin-off designed to showcase major esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile's participation has proven successful, with Alliance currently leading the pack.

The remaining 12 teams will enjoy a week's respite before the final stage, scheduled for July 27th and 28th. However, the competition isn't over for everyone. The 12 eliminated teams will compete in a "Survival Stage" on July 23rd and 24th for two coveted spots in the final. This promises to be an intense showdown.

Global Impact:

While the long-term impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on global fans remains to be seen, its presence at the EWC has generated significant buzz. It's worth noting, however, that the EWC isn't the largest event on PUBG Mobile's esports calendar, and other major events are planned for later this year. This might lessen the overall impact of the EWC's PUBG Mobile tournament.
