Troubleshooting "Serialization Error Action Needed" in Ready or Not

1. Verify Game Files:

This is the first troubleshooting step. Ensure Steam isn't in offline mode.

• Locate Ready or Not in your Steam Library.
• Right-click, select Properties, then Installed Files, and finally Verify Integrity of Game Files.
• Steam will check for and redownload any corrupted or missing files. Retry launching the game. If successful, the issue is resolved.

2. Remove Mods:

Outdated or incompatible mods, especially those not updated for Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), frequently trigger this error.

• Open your Steam Library, locate Ready or Not, and left-click Manage > Browse Local Files.
• Navigate to ReadyorNot\Content\Paks and delete the mod.io folder.
• Relaunch the game. This removes all mods; proceed to the next step to selectively reinstall.

3. Reinstall Mods (One by One):

Reinstall mods cautiously, verifying compatibility with UE5 (post-July 2024 updates).

• Visit the mod's source (Nexus Mods, Mod.io, etc.). Check the last update date. Only reinstall mods updated after Ready or Not's UE5 transition.
• Install one mod at a time, testing the game after each installation. If the error reappears, the newly installed mod is the culprit; remove it.

4. Last Resort: Reinstall Ready or Not:

If the above steps fail, a clean reinstall of Ready or Not might be necessary. While less likely, hard drive corruption could also be a factor. However, outdated mods are the most common cause of this error.
