Originally launched in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 saw a remastered version in spring 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While there's no official word yet, it's speculated that this new version might also be in development for the PlayStation 5, alongside the confirmed Xbox Series release.

The community is buzzing with curiosity about what enhancements this native version for current-gen consoles will bring over the previous remaster. The only noticeable change so far is in the game's genre description. Where earlier versions were categorized as a "third-person shooter," the new listing on ESRB describes it as a "survival horror" game. Fans are eagerly awaiting more details, which are expected to be revealed in an upcoming full presentation.

Beyond the re-release, excitement is building for the rumored ninth installment in the Resident Evil series. According to whispers, this next chapter is set to unfold four years after the events of Resident Evil: Village, promising to continue the saga's thrilling narrative.
