Razer Laptop Pulled Over Trump Tariffs

by Benjamin Dec 23,2025

The tariffs implemented by former U.S. President Trump are once again affecting American gamers, with Razer's Blade 16 gaming laptop now caught in the crossfire.

Import tariffs function as taxes levied on specific imported goods. While companies along the supply chain can sometimes absorb these costs, they are frequently passed on to consumers. For the gaming community, this unfortunately means that tech and gaming hardware prices are likely to rise.

In some cases, products are being temporarily withdrawn from sale. As reported by The Verge, although the Blade 16 was listed for sale in the U.S. as recently as April 1st, the option to purchase the laptop has now been completely removed from Razer's website.

While European gamers can currently order the new laptop (subject to availability—it's out of stock in the UK), the U.S. site only offers a "Notify Me" button for updates, with no pricing information shown. Attempting to access the Buy Now page redirects to a 404 error.

Razer isn't the only company quietly halting sales amid market uncertainty. Tariffs targeting China and Taiwan—key manufacturing hubs for PC components—are also expected to impact U.S. consumers. Memory maker Micron has warned of impending price hikes, and PC manufacturer Framework has "temporarily paused" some sales in the U.S. entirely.

Last week, the pre-order date for the Nintendo Switch 2—initially set for April 9th—was removed in the United States after Trump's tariffs triggered financial market volatility. The issue quickly spread, with Nintendo Canada also confirming delays for pre-orders.

Nintendo fans and industry analysts are now worried that the company may further increase the price of the Switch 2 and its games, compounding existing consumer concerns about the console's cost following its announcement.
