Project Mugen now has an official name and teaser trailer as NetEase shows off Ananta

NetEase Games and Naked Rain's Project Mugen is officially titled Ananta, a new urban, open-world RPG. A recently released PV and teaser trailer showcase gameplay and the game's name, offering a closer look at the world, characters, and enemies.

The preview video highlights Nova City, a sprawling cityscape ripe for exploration, a diverse cast of characters, and the looming threat of chaotic forces from beyond. While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself with unique movement mechanics. The game blends charming characters with dynamic combat, a common feature in today's 3D RPGs.

The PV showcases impressive movement abilities. Whether this translates to seamless traversal between streets and rooftops, or even Spider-Man-like freedom of movement across Nova City, remains to be seen.

While similarities to MiHoYo's Genshin Impact are apparent, Ananta aims to carve its own niche in the 3D gacha RPG market. Its success will depend on its ability to stand out from the competition and potentially challenge the reigning champions.
