Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids!

Pokemon GO trainers can now utilize remote raid passes in Shadow Raids for the first time, exclusively during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event! This highly requested feature, initially introduced with Shadow Raids in 2023, offers a unique opportunity.

This limited-time event, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows participation in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids, both in-person and remotely. A key benefit? Increased chances of catching Pokemon with superior IV stats.

Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day: The excitement continues with a special Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time). Trainers can remotely participate, boosting their odds of encountering a shiny Shadow Ho-Oh and teaching it the powerful Sacred Fire charged attack. This day also provides an opportunity to use Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokemon.

A Temporary Treat (For Now): While this is a temporary addition, the ability to use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids is a significant development. Niantic's decision follows player feedback regarding the challenges of in-person participation in raids, particularly for harder encounters. Whether this becomes a permanent feature remains to be seen. The temporary nature of this addition, however, makes it a must-do event for all Pokemon GO players.
