Niantic recently announced significant updates for Pokemon Go players in Brazil at gamescom latam 2024. The highlight? A massive city-wide event in Sao Paulo this December! While details remain scarce, the event promises to be a significant Pokemon Go experience. The announcement was made by Alan Madujano (Head of Operations in LATAM), Eric Araki (Country Manager for Brazil), and Leonardo Willie (Community Manager for Emerging Markets), who also discussed the game's remarkable popularity in the region.

Collaborating with the Sao Paulo Civil House and local shopping centers, Niantic aims to deliver a fun and safe event for all participants. Beyond the December event, Niantic is committed to expanding the in-game experience across Brazil by partnering with various city governments to increase the number of PokeStops and Gyms nationwide.

Brazil's importance to Niantic is undeniable, especially following a successful price adjustment for in-game items that led to a revenue surge. This dedication is further evidenced by the creation of a locally produced video celebrating Pokemon Go in Brazil.
