Pokémon Go will host the Wayfarer Challenge in Chile and India, giving you a chance to nominate landmarks as PokéStops and Gyms

by Logan Mar 19,2025

Trainers in Chile and India get ready! Niantic is launching the Pokémon Go Wayfarer Challenge, giving you a chance to shape your in-game world and earn awesome rewards. From March 7th-9th in Chile and March 10th-12th in India, review and approve Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform. Help add new PokéStops and Gyms to Pokémon Go while working towards exciting milestones!

By reviewing nominations of real-world locations (landmarks, sculptures, street art, etc.), you contribute to community goals. Hit 5,000 resolved nominations, and everyone receives 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Reach 10,000 approvals, and the rewards get even better: 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg!

To participate, you need a Niantic Wayfarer account, be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go, and complete the Wayfarer Orientation (if you're new). You must also have recently played in Chile or India, or set your Wayfarer Hometown/Bonus Location to one of these countries. Remember to review at least 50 nominations to qualify for rewards, and at least one milestone must be reached.
