The Pokémon Company's subsidiary, Pokémon Works, will assume development and future updates of Pokémon Sleep from Select Button. This transition was announced via an in-app notice on the Japanese version of Pokémon Sleep. The impact on the global version remains unclear.

This shift follows the March 2024 launch of Pokémon Works, fueling speculation regarding its future projects. Pokémon Works' background remains somewhat mysterious. However, its representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, described it as a development team formed from The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd. The company's website also mentions contributions to Pokémon HOME development. Their Tokyo location is reportedly near ILCA, known for its work on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokémon HOME.
