PlayStation Plus Extends Free Trial by Five Days

Sony recently addressed the PSN outage that disrupted services for nearly a full day over the weekend. Through a social media update, the company attributed the issue to an "operational problem," though specifics on the cause or preventive measures for future incidents were not disclosed.
To compensate affected users, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional five days added to their subscription, automatically credited to their accounts.
Throughout the outage, gamers faced significant challenges; over a third of users were unable to log in, and many others reported server crashes, severely impacting their gameplay experience.
The mandatory requirement of a PSN account for playing even single-player games on PC has been a point of contention among players, and this recent outage has further fueled these concerns.
This incident is not an isolated event for Sony. Back in April 2011, a major data breach resulted in over 20 days of service disruptions. While the current situation is less severe, PS5 users are expressing dissatisfaction with Sony's limited communication on the matter.
