Palworld Update 0.5.0 Adds Crossplay Across All Platforms, Blueprint Upgrading, Photo Mode and More

Palworld’s massive v0.5.0 update introduces cross-platform play, revolutionizing the way players interact! This update also unlocks the Global Palbox, a game-changer for Pal management. This expansive storage solution boasts ten times the capacity of the standard Palbox, offering both guild-wide access and private personal storage options, allowing for seamless Pal transfers between worlds.

Beyond the Global Palbox, players can now enjoy character customization with the new cosmetic armor system (transmog), letting you change your look without sacrificing armor stats. A highly requested photo mode has also been added, along with blueprint upgrading, and dedicated servers for Mac users. PlayStation 5 dedicated servers are in development and coming soon.

Since its January 2024 early access launch, Palworld has captivated 32 million players. Pocketpair has unveiled a comprehensive 2025 content roadmap, promising an "ending scenario" and further exciting content additions for this wildly popular creature-catching survival game. Palworld's initial success, launching on Steam for $30 and simultaneously on Xbox and PC Game Pass, was so significant that developer Pocketpair's boss, Takuro Mizobe, stated the studio couldn't handle the massive profits generated. This led to a partnership with Sony, forming Palworld Entertainment to expand the IP and bring the game to the PS5.

Currently, Palworld faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company alleging patent infringement. Pocketpair has responded, clarifying the patents in question and implementing changes to Pal summoning mechanics. The developer remains resolute, stating their intention to defend their position in court.
