Following months of speculation and leaks, Nintendo has officially announced the Nintendo Switch 2. A brief teaser showcased a refined design retaining the hybrid functionality of its predecessor, but with key improvements.

The teaser highlighted a larger screen, a more robust kickstand, and magnetically attaching Joy-Cons—a significant change from the original Switch's rail system. An extra USB-C port on the console itself was also confirmed.

Backward compatibility is confirmed for both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, although Nintendo notes that some titles may have limited or no support on the Switch 2.
