"NieR: Automata - Best Spots for Machine Arm Farming"
Quick Links
In NieR: Automata, the journey to upgrade your weapons and pod involves collecting a variety of crafting materials. While many of these become more accessible as you progress through the game, securing them early can significantly enhance your character's strength from the outset.
One particularly elusive material is the Machine Arm. Despite the name suggesting plentiful availability, these components are scarce, necessitating dedicated farming efforts, especially early in the game. Here's where to start your search.
Where To Farm Machine Arms In NieR: Automata
Machine Arms can potentially drop from any small machine enemy you defeat. However, the drop rate is influenced by the enemy's level; higher-level enemies increase your chances of obtaining Machine Arms. Early in the game, these drops are rare, so increasing your kill count is essential for farming.
Post-Chapter 4, after your first encounter with Adam, you can access a pit where enemies, including small machines, spawn continuously. To reach this spot, use fast travel to get to the Desert: Housing Complex access point and venture deeper into the ruins.
In this pit, as you destroy enemies, new ones will appear shortly after, maintaining a steady flow of potential drops. Although the machines here are not high-level, the frequent spawns make it the most efficient farming location early on. This area is also ideal for farming Titanium Alloy.
To slightly improve your drop rates, consider equipping a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip.
