Nexus Mods owner yanked 'Trump and Biden' mod from Marvel's Midnight Suns

Nexus Mods, a popular modding website, is facing backlash after removing over 500 mods from Marvel Rivals in a single month. The controversy centers on the removal of two mods that replaced Captain America's head with images of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

The website's owner, TheDarkOne, clarified on Reddit that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. He noted, however, that this action has been met with unexpected criticism, particularly from YouTubers who have seemingly ignored the simultaneous removal.

TheDarkOne further revealed that the removals have resulted in a wave of online harassment, including death threats and personal attacks. This incident echoes a similar controversy in 2022, where a mod for Spider-Man Remastered that replaced rainbow flags with American flags was removed due to the site's pro-inclusivity policy.

TheDarkOne concluded by stating that Nexus Mods will not tolerate content that violates their commitment to diversity and inclusion.
