A Coastal Conflict on the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryNetflix Tudum, the official Netflix news source, confirms the February 11, 2025 release of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. This animated film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.

The story unfolds in a coastal village where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk forces a Continent kingdom to enlist a Witcher's aid. Instead of the usual monsters, Geralt faces a unique challenge – battling merpeople.

Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.

Sapkowski acts as a creative consultant, while Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penned the screenplay. Kang Hei Chul, the storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.

Bridging the Gap in Season 1

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryThe film's timeline fits seamlessly between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident (episode 5), Geralt is hired to resolve a coastal monster problem.

The film's location is likely situated between Redania and Temeria. Considering the source material, Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval, is a strong possibility. However, the extent to which the film adheres to the short story remains to be seen.
