New Monster Outbreaks Feature Tested in Monster Hunter Now

Exciting developments are unfolding in Monster Hunter Now, with Niantic introducing a new feature called Monster Outbreaks for testing. This event is designed to gather player feedback and make necessary adjustments before its official release. If you're eager to dive into this thrilling new gameplay element, here's what you need to know.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled from April 26th to 27th, with two sessions each day. Mark your calendar for Saturday and Sunday, as the event will run from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time. During these windows, you'll encounter a surge of 8-star Black Diablos at designated outbreak points on the map. The objective is to team up with other players and aim to take down 100 Black Diablos at each specific outbreak location within the one-hour timeframe. Remember, this is not a global tally but specific to each outbreak spot.

To participate, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Note that the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal. Outbreak points are clearly marked on the map with a unique icon, and you can tap on them to view more details. Additionally, a sign-up roster is available at each spot, allowing you to coordinate with others about your participation times.

The concept of the slay count adds a fascinating twist to the event. If you and three other hunters successfully take down a single monster, it counts as four towards the 100-monster goal. Should your group reach this target before the hour ends, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the session.

Achieving the 100-monster goal comes with rewarding loot. Your team will be awarded 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. If you utilize the sign-up roster, you'll also have a chance to earn the exclusive Outbreak Test I Medal.
