David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, used his Bluesky account to wish fans a Happy Snake Year, cleverly highlighting the coincidence of 2025 being both the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac and the projected release year for the next Metal Gear installment. With Hayter reprising his role as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it truly seems like Snake's year.

Konami themselves acknowledged this auspicious timing with a New Year's greeting video on YouTube. The video featured a captivating performance by Taiko drummers and a calligraphy artist creating the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement.

Since its May 2024 announcement, including a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, news on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke to 4Gamer, a Japanese gaming website, emphasizing their commitment to delivering a highly polished and high-quality game in 2025 – a significant challenge they’re tackling head-on.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is poised to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2025. This next-gen remake will boast enhanced visuals, gameplay incorporating mechanics from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and new voice work from the original cast.
