The Best ‘Marvel Snap’ Meta Decks – September 2024 Edition
TouchArcade Rating:
Let's jump right in this month to compensate for last month's slightly delayed guide. A fresh month and season are upon us, and I'm here to offer deck-building strategies to maintain your competitive edge in Marvel Snap (Free). Honestly, the game felt pretty well-balanced last month. However, a new season introduces new cards, potentially disrupting the equilibrium. Let's predict the meta shift, shall we? Remember: today's winning deck might be obsolete tomorrow. This guide offers a snapshot of the current scene, but it shouldn't be your sole strategy source.
Note: Most decks listed are top-tier and assume a complete card collection. I'll present five dominant Marvel Snap decks and a couple of more accessible, fun alternatives.
Most Young Avengers cards haven't significantly impacted the meta. Kate Bishop remains effective, and Marvel Boy benefits 1-Cost Kazoo decks, but others are inconsistent. The newly released Amazing Spider-Man and the Activate ability, however, are game-changers. Next month's meta will likely be dramatically different.
Kazar and Gilgamesh

Cards Included: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
Surprisingly, Kazoo is a top deck thanks to the Young Avengers. The core strategy remains familiar: deploy low-cost cards and buff them with Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, and Gilgamesh thrives in this buffed environment. Kate Bishop complements Dazzler, reducing the cost of Mockingbird. This strong, well-rounded deck's longevity remains to be seen.
Silver Surfer Still Reigns Supreme, Part II

Cards Included: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
Silver Surfer remains a powerhouse, with minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. The classic Nova/Killmonger combo boosts cards. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool buffs cards in hand; Shaw gains power with buffs; Hope provides extra Energy; Cassandra Nova drains opponent's power; and Surfer/Absorbing Man secures victory. Copycat replaces Red Guardian, proving a versatile asset.
Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Domination

Cards Included: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype also excels. Cards with Ongoing abilities receive a final-turn boost from Spectrum. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing synergy is potent, and Luke protects cards from US Agent. The deck's ease of play is a plus, and Cosmo's utility is likely to increase.
Discard Dracula Deck

Cards Included: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
This reliable Apocalypse-style Discard deck features Moon Knight (buffed for improved performance). Morbius and Dracula are key cards, aiming for a final-round Apocalypse play, transforming into Mega-Drac. Collector benefits from numerous Swarms. The deck's success is noteworthy, despite the absence of Arnim Zola due to increased counter-measures.
The Unstoppable Destroy Deck

Cards Included: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
The Destroy deck remains largely unchanged, with Attuma's recent buff boosting its effectiveness. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, generating extra energy with X-23, and utilizing Nimrod or Knull for a powerful finish. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the rise of counter-strategies.
Here are a couple of fun decks for players building their collections or seeking diverse gameplay:
Darkhawk's Triumphant Return

Cards Included: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
Darkhawk's competitive viability is a welcome surprise. This deck utilizes Korg and Rockslide to add cards to the opponent's deck. It also incorporates Spider-Ham, Cassandra Nova, and discard effects to reduce Stature's cost.
Budget-Friendly Kazar Deck

Cards Included: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A beginner-friendly Kazar deck, lacking the top-tier power but providing valuable experience with the Kazar/Blue Marvel combo and Onslaught.
This month's deck guide concludes here. The new season and potential balance changes will likely reshape the meta by October. The Activate ability and Symbiote Spider-Man are significant factors. It's interesting to see classic decks return to dominance, though this is unlikely to persist. Until next time... happy snapping!
