Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightmare

Marvel Rivals Season 1 continues to expand its content, introducing a host of new maps based on Marvel's New York City, alongside the Fantastic Four heroes and cosmetic additions. Here's a breakdown of each new map:

Table of Contents

  • Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
  • Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
  • Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Launching alongside Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. Midtown depicts a nighttime New York City under Dracula's Blood Moon, featuring iconic Marvel and real-world locations:

  • Baxter Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Stark/Avengers Tower
  • Fisk Tower
  • Ardmore's Bookstore
  • Timely Trend

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

This map, a unique rendition of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is the exclusive home of the Doom Match mode – a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player receiving MVP. The Sanctum Santorum, faithfully recreated from its comic book origins (1963) and MCU appearances, is depicted as Earth's supernatural defense. Expect hidden secrets, impossible architecture, portals, and even a visit from Bats the Ghost Dog.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Expected to arrive later in Season 1, Central Park will feature a stylized Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic structure provides a fitting backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night theme and a potential Dracula hideout. The map's design draws inspiration from the park's numerous appearances in Marvel media, most recently in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (2023).

These are all the confirmed new maps for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
