Marvel Rivals Reaches a New Player Milestone With Season 1
Marvel Rivals Achieves Record-Breaking Player Count with Season 1 Launch
Marvel Rivals has soared to new heights with the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, achieving an unprecedented all-time concurrent player peak on Steam. The hero shooter, developed by NetEase Games, surpassed 560,000 concurrent players, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
The new season introduces an exciting narrative where Dracula traps Doctor Strange and seizes control of New York City. Players can now embody the Fantastic Four heroes, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, to battle Dracula and his sinister forces. The developers have promised the inclusion of Human Torch and The Thing in a substantial mid-season update, further expanding the game's roster.
In addition to new characters, Season 1 brings fresh maps like Sanctum Sanctorum and Midtown. The latter will feature in convoy missions, while the former hosts the new Doom Match mode. These additions demonstrate NetEase Games' commitment to enhancing the gaming experience and attracting both new and returning players.
According to SteamDB, the impressive player count of over 560,000 during the launch underscores the success of Season 1. While specific numbers across all platforms remain undisclosed, the surge on Steam alone is a testament to the game's popularity. Additionally, Steam users have the chance to participate in a contest, where they can win a $10 Steam gift card by sharing thrilling moments or screenshots on the game's Discord channel.
Marvel Rivals Hits a New All-Time Concurrent Player Count On Steam
This achievement follows a series of successes for Marvel Rivals, which has already captured a broad audience across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Shortly after its debut on December 6, 2024, NetEase Games announced that 20 million players had engaged with the game. With the launch of Season 1 and its exciting new content, many anticipate that this number will continue to grow.
To entice more players, NetEase Games has been offering free cosmetics through various in-game events. Completing quests in the Midnight Features event rewards players with a free Thor skin, while watching streams can earn a Hela skin via Twitch Drops. The Darkhold battle pass for Season 1 also allows players to claim free skins for Peni Parker and Scarlet Witch without purchasing the premium version. With such generous offerings, fans are eagerly awaiting what NetEase Games has planned next for Marvel Rivals.
