Marvel Rivals Rank Reset Reversed Amid Controversy
Discover the latest changes and developments in Marvel Rivals as the game responds to fan feedback regarding player rank resets. Dive into the details below to stay informed about what's coming next in this exciting game.
Marvel Rivals Backtracks On Their Player Rank Reset
Dev Talk 11 Updates on Seasonal Rank Adjustments
Marvel Rivals has listened to its community and reversed its previous decision on mid-season player rank resets. Following widespread fan backlash after the announcement in Dev Talk 10, which proposed a rank drop of four divisions every 45 days, the developers quickly adjusted their stance.
In the newly released Dev Talk 11, Marvel Rivals confirmed there will be no rank reset during the mid-season. Players will now retain their scores and ranks from the first half of the season. However, the end-of-season rank reset remains in place, with players dropping down six divisions. This change reflects Marvel Rivals' commitment to addressing player concerns and enhancing the gaming experience.
Human Torch, The Thing, And Other Updates Still On The Way
Despite the reversal on the rank reset, Marvel Rivals continues to move forward with exciting updates. The much-anticipated addition of Human Torch and The Thing will expand the roster to 39 heroes, as previously announced by NetEase Games. Each season, lasting three months, will introduce two new playable characters, keeping the game fresh and engaging.
Rewards for players reaching Gold rank and above will remain unchanged, with those at this level receiving a free Invisible Woman costume. Players ranked Grandmaster and above will earn Crests of Honor. At the end of the season, new rewards will be available for those reaching Gold rank, including another free costume and additional Crests of Honor for Grandmaster and above ranks.
While balance adjustments are expected following the mid-season update, specific details have yet to be disclosed.
Marvel Rivals Community Support
The swift response from Marvel Rivals to the community's feedback highlights their dedication to player satisfaction. Just hours after the initial announcement, the developers addressed the concerns and released Dev Talk 11, showcasing their commitment to the game's community.
Marvel Rivals emphasized their ongoing mission to make the game the best it can be, stating, "We strive to make Marvel Rivals the best game it can be, and the community is the driving force behind this mission! [...] Your engagement and support mean the world to us, and we're excited to continue this journey together!"
The next Marvel Rivals mid-season update is scheduled for February 21, 2025. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with all the latest news and developments by visiting our Marvel Rivals page.
