Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts were once buzzing with excitement over a proposed DLC that promised to take the game's action to the Moon. Despite the project being shelved, dedicated blogger and dataminer SirMZK has unearthed intriguing details from the game's code, offering a glimpse into CD Projekt RED's ambitious plans for this lunar expansion.

Within the game's files, SirMZK found references to lunar surface maps and specific areas such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab. There was even a model for a rover, hinting at the exploration aspect of this DLC. The Moon location was envisioned to be vast, possibly encompassing a quarter of Night City's size, and designed as an open-world environment. This would have dramatically expanded the gameplay, transporting players from the familiar neon-lit streets to the uncharted expanse of space.

A highlight of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an exclusive space station. Though it didn't make it into the final release, players can catch a fleeting glimpse of it in one of the game's endings, as V looks out of a spaceship window. Additionally, the files revealed plans for a zero-gravity bar, linked to a cut quest named "201," which was intricately tied to the Arasaka storyline.

While the Moon DLC remains a missed opportunity, fans hold out hope that some of these concepts might be revived in CD Projekt RED's next venture, Orion, which aims to further explore the Cyberpunk universe. However, there's no official word from the studio on whether these ideas will be reused.
