League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To dive into Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch an introductory story and lead you straight into your first round of the card game.

Your hand is displayed along the bottom row of cards. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percent crit chance. Just above, you'll find the Sigil box, which can hold up to six active Sigils at once, though you start with none. Remember, your health doesn't regenerate after each battle, so make sure to visit tent locations on the map to restore a percentage of your health.

The enemy card is positioned at the top of the screen, with its health shown in the bottom right and damage in the bottom left. To the left of the enemy card, an attack coin indicates how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the far left edge of the screen, there's a book that lists all possible hands you can play and their base damage in a standard round.

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, each with a unique name in Demon’s Hand but following traditional poker rules. The pinnacle is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here’s a breakdown of the hands and their poker equivalents:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

Each card's number value adds to the base damage of the hand you play. Be mindful of enemy special abilities that may nullify the value of cards with a specific suit; these cards will be crossed out, though you can still play them, their number value won't contribute to the damage.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils add another layer of strategy to Demon’s Hand. You can purchase them during store phases, indicated by coins on the map, which you earn by defeating enemies. Each Sigil offers a unique ability, viewable by hovering over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils might enhance specific hands, like boosting the damage of Dyads, while others could extend the turns before an enemy attack or reduce the damage you receive.

This guide covers everything you need to know to start playing the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If card games aren't your thing, keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools skins in Summoner’s Rift to add some fun to your gameplay.
