Leaked Battlefield Content Excites Fans, EA Yet to Respond

by Madison Mar 25,2025

Despite the strict non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) required by EA for participants in the closed playtesting of their upcoming untitled Battlefield game, leaks have inevitably surfaced online. These leaks, comprising numerous videos and screenshots, have provided a glimpse into the activities of players during the testing phase. As previously reported, the leaked footage aligns with the "modern" setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from previous entries in the series. A quick browse through the Battlefield subreddit reveals a variety of intense firefights, showcasing the game's signature destructible environments and introducing new mechanics such as hanging off vehicles and dragging wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA appears to be taking a relaxed stance on these leaks. Typically, game publishers are quick to act against unauthorized early footage due to concerns over incomplete animations, unfinished user interfaces, and suboptimal graphics. However, EA has not yet initiated any takedown requests, even though participants are technically breaching their confidentiality agreements by sharing this content.

This leniency might be influenced by the positive reception the leaks have received, in stark contrast to the tepid response to Battlefield 2042. Fans seem genuinely excited about the early glimpses of the new game. Comments from the community include sentiments like, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" and "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me." Others have expressed enthusiasm over the game's visual and auditory effects, with one player stating, "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!" and another adding, "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha."

EA has set expectations for the release of their next Battlefield game within the fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. Following the first official reveal last month, it has been confirmed that the game will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, much to the delight of fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
