During a recent Twitch stream, Warhorse Studios' PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, explicitly stated that KCD 2 will not utilize any DRM system, including Denuvo. He addressed the persistent rumors and urged fans to cease inquiries about DRM integration, emphasizing that any unconfirmed information circulating online is inaccurate.

Stolz-Zwilling clarified that while internal discussions regarding DRM may have occurred, the final decision is definitively DRM-free. He appealed for an end to the constant questioning on social media platforms.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Won't Have Denuvo DRM

The absence of DRM addresses a common concern among gamers regarding potential performance impacts and negative player experiences associated with DRM technologies, particularly Denuvo. While Denuvo serves as anti-piracy software, its implementation has sometimes been linked to performance issues. Denuvo's product manager, Andreas Ullmann, has acknowledged the negative perception surrounding the technology, attributing it to misinformation and confirmation bias.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is slated for release in February 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Set in medieval Bohemia, the game follows Henry, a blacksmith apprentice, whose village faces a catastrophic event. Players who contributed at least $200 to the Kickstarter campaign will receive a free copy of the game.
