In *Fields of Mistria*, you can form friendships with almost everyone, but romance is reserved for a select group of NPCs. As of the v0.13.0 update, you can pursue romance with 11 different characters, including the intriguing Caldarus.

Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that fills based on your interactions with them. To foster a romantic relationship, engage with them frequently and be mindful of their preferences. Start by **talking to them daily**, which you can do while performing other tasks around town. Regular conversations can significantly enhance your bond. Additionally, complete any requests they post on the town board, as this provides more chances to increase their heart gauge.

You can also **give them a gift once per day**, choosing items they particularly enjoy or love. These preferences vary between characters, and you can either gather or craft these items. On their birthday, give them an item they love to give their heart gauge a substantial boost. Consistently following these steps will quickly elevate their affection towards you.

Keep in mind that the current maximum for NPC heart gauges is **six hearts**. Reaching this level triggers a cutscene hinting at budding romance, though it's not yet a full-blown relationship.

According to the game’s roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events for romanceable NPCs, along with options for marriage and children. This ensures your romantic journey in Mistria will continue to evolve.

Juniper has a range of items she "likes" and "loves." Her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, so presenting her with a gift she loves on this day will significantly boost her heart gauge.

Be cautious of items Juniper dislikes, which include all universal dislikes shared among NPCs and **Sod**. Avoid these to maintain her affection.
