Moonstone's Mechanics in Marvel Snap

Moonstone is a 4-cost, 6-power card with the Ongoing ability: “Ongoing: Has the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here.”

This makes her highly synergistic with cards like Ant-Man, Quinjet, Ravonna Renslayer, and Patriot. Combining her with Mystique allows for powerful duplication of Ongoing effects, including those of Iron Man and Onslaught. However, she's vulnerable to Enchantress, which negates lane effects unless countered by Cosmo. Echo is another, less common, counter to consider in combo-heavy decks.

Top Moonstone Decks on Day One

Moonstone excels in decks built around low-cost Ongoing cards. Two prominent examples are Patriot and Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur decks.

Patriot Deck:

Wasp, Ant-Man, Dazzler, Mister Sinister, Invisible Woman, Mystique, Patriot, Brood, Iron Lad, Moonstone, Blue Marvel, Ultron. [Untapped deck link omitted]

This deck utilizes the classic Patriot combo (Patriot into Mystique, followed by Ultron) amplified by Moonstone. Ant-Man and Dazzler provide additional synergy, while Iron Lad offers card draw. Invisible Woman protects key cards from counters (excluding Alioth).

Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur Deck:

Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Cosmo, Agent Coulson, Copycat, Moonstone, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur, Gorr the God Butcher, Alioth. [Untapped deck link omitted]

This deck leverages the Devil Dinosaur combo (turn 5 Devil Dinosaur, Mystique copy, Agent Coulson) enhanced by Victoria Hand's buffs. Moonstone requires strategic placement depending on whether Mystique copies Devil Dinosaur or Victoria Hand. Cosmo is crucial for countering Enchantress. Copycat can be substituted with other 3-cost cards like Red Guardian or Rocket & Groot.

Is Moonstone Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

Yes, Moonstone is a valuable addition, likely to remain meta-relevant for a considerable time. Her synergy with Mystique opens diverse deck-building possibilities, extending beyond the decks mentioned here (e.g., Zoo decks). The release of any new Ongoing card will necessitate reevaluation of its potential with Moonstone.
